Dynamic Balances: Venleitche » Devlog
The Dynamic Balances mechanic actively enforces the consequences of character actions, for good or for ill. Once an action is taken, the story is then driven by the consequences, as the players deal with what comes next as the result of their decisions. This is a rules-light, crunch-light mechanic designed to encourage story flow, character growth and adaptation, and serious agency on the part of the players as they shape the paths of their characters with each decision they make. The Gamemaster serves in a role more cooperative than adversarial, handling the fallout from and the opposition to the players’ actions, and guiding the story rather than controlling it.
